Our Board of Education consists of seven community members elected by the citizens of the district and acts to establish policies that govern the operation of the Forest City School District.

All meeting notices are announced to local media and posted on our website.

Regular meetings of the Forest City School District Board of Education are scheduled on the second Monday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. Meetings take place at the District Office, 145 South Clark Street, Forest City.

Special meetings are also called when necessary.

Board meeting agendas are posted on the district website at least 24 hours before a scheduled meeting. Special provisions apply in the case of an emergency meeting.

The board secretary records the minutes of the board meetings. Minutes of the previous meetings are provided for each meeting, along with the current agenda. The minutes represent official actions taken by the board, but do not include verbatim transcripts of conversations and discussions from each meeting.

All regular and special meetings are open to the public. Individuals or groups wishing to place an item on the agenda should contact Superintendent Darwin Lehmann or 641-585-2323. To be included on the regular meeting agenda, a request must be received no later than six calendar days prior to meeting. Please reference Public Participation in Board Meetings for procedures and expectations.
